Sitting in the patient room and nobody knowing when the doctor will be here is just raking up the bill which is exactly what they want. Great surgery staff, terrible communication on check out, not enough on hand doctors for check out. Never dealt with this before and never coming back again.
Surgery was phenomenal. Best surgeons around. The reason for 3 stars was nobody has any information on checking out. Surgery doctor checked my dad out at 8 am, said everything looked good and he signed him off. That was early in the morning. All that was left was check out with the primary doctor. Let me tell you something, 1 doctor for all these patients is not enough. It's been 3 hours sitting here. We have a 4 hour drive ahead of us.
My surgery was top notch, my stay at the hospital all the nurses looked over me as if i was their very own grandmother or mother. I feel so blessed to have been at this Hospital than any other Hospital i ever been in. The doctors are amazing very caring. I would not want to go to any other Hospital but this one, if i ever had to be hospitalized again. Thank you Memorial Regional Doctors and Nurses for being so loving and caring for my needs. Just to let you know as well, even after i was dismissed from the hospital the nurses still contacted me to check up on me to see how i was doing during my recovery at home. I felt so safe and cared for i felt someone was still watching over me. "+" I felt no worries i had peace of mind when i needed it the most...
The only reason I am giving it 3 stars is because the doctor and male nurse (he wasn't even my nurse) was amazing! Other than that, I hate this hospital with a passion. L&D never came to check on my baby while I was in the ER for something non pregnancy related. Wait times are long as hell. This use to be my favorite hospital for years but these past 4 years you can see the decline in quality service! Nurse Paul B (don't know how to spell his last name) was amazing and took good care of me and he wasn't even my assigned nurse! He gives me hope to even consider to come back! Dr jean Pierrot was extremely nice and informative as well! If it wasn't for those 2 gentlemen, I'd give this place the lowest stars possible! Thank you again Paul and dr Pierrot!
I have never had such a great experience with a hospital. I had my baby during the time of Hurricane Irma and the hospital accommodated my family and I nicely. Each member of my family had a free meal each day during our stay due to the hurricane. My family also stayed with me the entire week in my room as per hospital practice. The hospital even invited over a hundred pregnant women close to their due date to stay at the hospital just in case an emergency was to happen during the storm. This type of courtesy is common for Memorial. Because each time I needed assistance a nurse was available. Almost all the nurses went above and beyond to make me feel welcomed. From giving me their personal scented lotion to finding my son the last bowl of macaroni and cheese from the kitchen as there was nothing else that my child could eat. The best part was the birth itself. I had a scheduled C-section and was saddened that I would miss out on the natural birth experience of skin to skin. I was so shocked when they immediately placed my baby on me to breastfeed, and to my surprise she latched easily. This early moment was crucial and I believe that the first latch was probably what made my milk come easily. Memorial is really a top-notch hospital and I’m so happy I had my baby there.
